AB&TCR HAPPY ENDINGS - BETTS21

Various people, including ourselves, thought we were crazy driving over 600 miles one way to pick up a four year old coonhound to adopt. Ten months later, Ellie Mae (formerly Betts) is enjoying her walk'n'sniffs, squeaky toys, monitoring the neighborhood from the deck or front window and chasing squirrels and chipmunks out of the yard. Ellie Mae also likes her training sessions, and although she isn't great and we aren't great trainers, she certainly enjoys the extra treats. We have received numerous compliments regarding what a beautiful dog she is, however, we are most pleased with the neighbor who commented how calm and well-behaved she has become since her first couple of months and another neighbor commented how they haven’t heard her baying for a while and that they actually missed it. We continue to work on staying inside the yard with the hidden fence and staying safely seated while traveling in the car. Ellie Mae will start going to a play group once a week so that she can socialize with other dogs. We can say that Ellie Mae was worth every mile traveled to get her.

Thank you to ABTCR and her foster parents for a great dog.
