We adopted Calypso, now "The Outlaw Josey Wales", last year with the intention of training her as a tracking dog for Search and Rescue.
Josey is now almost 2 years old and weighs just under 80 pounds. Through out the past year she has adapted to life with our family, learned basic obedience, and started her Search and Rescue training.
She has adapted to the life of a tracking dog in training like she was born to do it. When we are working I pretty much ski behind her and hope I don't fall down! She loves to work. We have a LONG way to go before we will be certified as a Search and Rescue team, but we are having a lot of fun training to do it.
Don't let her working dog status fool you...she's still a typical goofy, lanky hound that's either going 100 mph or 0 mph.
Thank you for saving my dogs life. Hopefully someday she will save someone else's life in return.
