I thought it was time for a Darby update! She is doing wonderfully, especially now that the sunshine has arrived here in Oregon. She really isn't much of a rainy weather dog, so she is taking in every opportunity possible to sun bathe in the backyard. She enjoys her regular runs with my husband a few times a week and spends a lot of time keeping our 11 year old golden retriever busy playing.

I realized the other day that we've had Darby for four months now and I hadn't given the rescue an update on her adjustment to our family! As you can see from the pictures, she's quite comfortable. She has been taking almost daily runs with my husband and the two enjoy each other very much. Darby however, does NOT like the Oregon rain and proceeds outside with great reluctance if there is any moisture in the air. The past few days have been snowy and both of our dogs are enjoying the change quite a bit. When she arrived in August, she still had some of her brown puppy undercoat, but now she is a beautiful sleek black and I swear she gets stronger every day. Her obedience progress has been fairly smooth, she still likes to jump occasionally, but she's become much more careful about where she jumps. I am very thankful for this dog everyday, and so glad that we chose to use the rescue as our adoption choice. Jill and Jared Whitney 16 December 2008 Our new family member arrived today, generously driven 800 miles by her foster grandfather. She is a wonderfully sweet and beautiful dog. She quickly bonded with our 9 year old Golden Retriever and our 3 daughters. She is gentle and quick to gain trust. We are looking forward to many happy years with this wonderful creature.
