It has been over a month since I adopted Katie, now Sadie, so I thought I would fill you all in on how she is doing in her new home.
I would like to start this off by saying thank you to Jayne, Don, and all the people who help make this rescue possible. Sadie ( formerly Katie from Katie and Loretta ) won my heart from the get go; she is so full of energy, intelligence, and curiosity. I spend most of the day laughing at her antics.
When we first left Don (her foster Dad) she cried for about 20 minutes, but after that and a few treats she rode well on the hour and a half trip back to Kentucky (with a few rest stops for the bathroom) to her new forever home. It took her a few days to settle in but after that her true self began to shine. She is the most energetic out-going puppy I have ever seen. I call her my little socialite. We go to the dog park once, sometimes twice, a day depending on the weather and she has become one of the better known dogs there. She announces her arrival with a big bay as soon as we begin getting close, and some times there are even a few other coonhounds to play with. She always makes her rounds, making sure everyone knows how pretty she is, and to see if she can sniff out who has a treat in their pocket.
I have attached a few pictures to show you how big she is getting. The one with Sadie and myself was the day I picked her up and she weighed about 35 pounds. She is now closing in on 50 and growing like a weed. I have a feeling she is going to be a big girl.
I could go on and on about how amazing this little hound is but then again she is a Coo hound so it is pretty much a given.
Thanks to everyone,
Mike and Sadie
