He jumped out of the truck as a shy, skinny guy. It was love at first sight for us, he was a little less sure. The first weeks at home we did our best to win him over with toys and treats. As well as helping him understand the difference between his things and our furniture. We suffered a few missteps, including a completely chewed windowsill in a fit of separation anxiety. Eventually, we found our stride (and cratetraining).
Kingston is a darling and brings us such love and happiness. He's endlessly fun and makes friends everywhere he goes. We absolutely adore him. We've had other hounds but never a Bloodhound. We knew he would be a different kind of responsibility and need a more hands-on level of care. We are fortunate our careers allow us to spend so much time with him. Bloodhounds are more like having children than other dogs. They just need more of your time and we are happy to give our guy plenty of it.
We will be forever grateful to Black and Tan Coonhound Rescue for our darling Kingston. And, when our sweetheart is no longer with us, we will be back to find our next friend.
