Star came home to Dallas, Oregon in 2010. She started her obedience class and did very well. After a few months she took her CGC (canine good citizenship) and passed with flying colors. For the last two years, Star has been training to be my service dog. She also has been training for public access, and she was tested for her PAT test and passed with flying colors as well. Star will be training for urban search and rescue. She is a wonderful Black and Tan Coonhound who is loved. Oh, she can now ring the bell with her nose to let us know she needs to go outside. When she’s not working, or playing with the other dogs which are a Pomeranian and an Australian shepherd, she slouches on the couch or sprawls on it to take a nap, and also loves to lay on my lap (she thinks she’s a lap dog), she also has a favorite chair she’ll sometimes sleep in, and at the end of the day when it’s bedtime, she jumps on the bed and sleeps the long way. No room for mom or dad to sleep.
