Murray (formerly known as “Merle”), a Black and Tan Coonhound mix, was adopted by us in January 2012 and has been a wonderful and much loved addition to our home. Murray had a rocky start in life as he was found abandoned on a rural roadway with heartworms, a fractured tooth, malnourished, and snake bitten. Following his rehabilitation in foster care, Murray is now very happy and healthy in his new home.

Murray has an insatiable desire to please and thrives on praise. He was a star pupil during his dog training classes where we learned that he will do just about anything for a dog treat. He also loves attention, petting, and cuddling. Murray would much rather be in our laps than playing in the yard. We never knew that a dog this size could be so loveable.

Murray developed an attachment to us very quickly. We take him to the off-leash dog park regularly where he never strays far from us. He also gets along very well with other dogs and doesn’t display any territorial behavior. Murray is the second Coonie that we have had and we are sold on Coonhound breeds and mixes. Murray now enjoys a very safe, happy, and loving life in Atlanta. We now enjoy being the owners of one of the best dogs in the world.
