MeMe is doing really good. She is playing well with Garnet and might give her a run for her money when she fills out with some more weight. Garnet has some good mass and plays pretty hard but MeMe is holding her own. Earlier today MeMe and Albert went upstairs and took a nap according to my Mom so I know she and Albert have something in common, too. I got her to pose for a few pix this evening on the bed. Mossy Oak looks good on her. I look forward to seeing her grow up and many long years of fun in the Alaskan outdoors as well as all the loving and cuddling at home. She is a great addition to our family. We are going to call her Ruby (my Birthstone). Guess what Lisa's birthstone is.....Garnet, of course.
Thanks again for everything and happy holidays.

It's been a while since we've sent updates on Albert and Garnet (Rum 'n' Coke). We recently moved from Anchorage to a small town called Anchor Point, Alaska with a population of about 2500. We bought a small place with 2 acres of land with state land behind our property. It's been a wonderful change for us as we slow down a bit from the Anchorage lifestyle. Of course, Albert and Garnet enjoy a much bigger back yard with more nature to sniff and smell. We are a few miles from the beach which they enjoy exploring, too. Here a few pix from this year;some from Anchorage and some from Anchor Point.
Have a great holiday season from our family to yours.

Albert is his normal friendly self and still always out to find someone new to try to go home with. He is a people lover. The dog park to us humans is a people park to Albert. He is very social with the other dogs, too, and always loves to get out. Garnet has graduated to off leash at the dog park and loves to bluff bark at other dogs but then is super happy and playful once she is face to face. Sometimes Lisa or I will go ahead or back track on the many little trails while the other stays with Albert and Garnet. Then after a few minutes whoever stays with them will say Go find Mommy or Daddy. Garnet is usually first to do the finding as Albert is on his schedule but he plays along. They do pretty good considering they have no formal training. Albert will walk by where you are hiding and turn his nose and sniff so he knows where you are but acts like he doesn't. Garnet is growing nicely. She seems to have stretched out a bit and gotten a tad bit taller. She is super loving spending a lot of time on the couch next to my Mom during the day or right now snuggled next to me. Her playful nature has warmed up Albert and gotten him to be a bit more playful, too.

Here are some new pictures of Garnet aka Mocha. Lisa and I decided to rename her. She is getting along well and fitting in as only a cute little girl can. She waits for mom to come out of her room after Lisa and I go to work. During the day she plays with Boomer (Mom's little Poodle mix) while Albert watches or naps. She really shows off to Lisa and is playful in the morning with Albert but not too much around me as she wants to pretend to be Daddy's Angel. I'm on to her ways though. She learned to hit the jingle bell that is tied to the door when she needs to be let out so no more puddles for 3 weeks now. She learned to catch carrots in her mouth very quickly. She does paw and high five. She does sit and wait for her food very well at feeding time. Her hair is getting more red highlights every day it seems. She is very social at the dog park but still growls or barks to strut her stuff a bit but wags her tail when other dogs approach and they all sniff and chat. She is very affectionate and will sleep on her bed or mine depending on her mood usually cuddling up to Lisa with her head on the pillow by morning. She likes to rip shoe laces off and messed up a pair of my sandals (now house shoes) which is something we are working on. She knows it's wrong and is submissive when told no but of course she throws those puppy eyes out there to soften me up.
She's a good dog.
Thank you again,

We got Mocha home around 10pm last night after her flight from Atlanta to Anchorage, Alaska. She was very nervous at the airport and had to pull her out of her kennel as she only got her front paws out when I clicked her leash on. The snow was a surprise to her but took it in stride. On the ride home (I have a 4Runner) I put the back seats down and she sniffed Lisa a bit and my ear while I drove but was fine. Must have been the treats she was munching on the way. Lots of sniffing and hellos, who are you, and I want to explore from Mocha once at home. The stairs were a bit of a challenge. I don't know if she has used them before but she figured them out. As you can see from the pix she is settling in fine laying on that extra puppy cuteness on my Mom. She slept like a baby on my bed in between Lisa and I. Didn't want anything to do with her kennel even though I put it at the end of our bed. I don't blame her as I'd want to be out of there after all that traveling too. Albert is being his normal self, a few sniffs on Mocha this morning then back on his bed. She ate fine and is drinking plenty of water. We are going to take her and Albert out for a walk and let her do some more sniffing around. She is very curious of this new world around her.
Thank you for everything.
Happy New Year!!!
