We adopted “Vienna Red”, now Sookie (after the “Saggie Baggie Elephant” story), in November 2011. We knew she was very special when we took her to my in-laws for Christmas. My mother-in-law is terrified of dogs but fell in love with Sookie. She is the most gentile and sweet dog we have ever owned. She was so easy to housebreak and gets along very well with our two rescue Rat Terriers. She is very smart and funny. She has learned how to open doors and turn on lights which can be a challenge at times! She does chase our cats but when she catches them she just licks them all over which only harms their dignity! My teenage daughter struggles with various chronic health issues and she says that some days Sookie is the only thing that makes her happy. She can bring a smile to anyone’s face! She is just a terrific dog.
