THE GANG

Our first adoptee was Riley in 2004, then Molly in 2005. Bo was adopted from Visalia, California and then our two long distance adoptees: Myles from Alaska in 2008 and then Lovie from Atlanta in August of this year.

We watched Lovie's progress through her numerous surgeries and knew we just had to have her, even though it would mean a total of six dogs here with five being hounds. She is gaining more weight. Her best friend is Myles, although Bo is second. Her legs are getting stronger from running on our acre. She has learned that avocados are a great treat as has everyone else. She still barks at chickens and the turkey that lived on the front porch. She has learned to give Kevin, our big flame point Siamese, a wide berth and knows now to leave cats alone. Her favorite place to sleep is on the bed.

Myles came from Alaska before the snow fell to sunny southern California. The first time he barked I thought the roof would come down, he was sooooo loud!!! He is a real couch potato. Again Kevin showed him the way that you leave Lisa's cats alone!! Myles prefers the company of turkeys and would sleep with the turkey on the front porch. Unfortunately we never got a photo with them together. His buddy is Lovie. Both do not like the pool like the others.

Bo, Molly and Dixie (our border collie) love the pool. During the summer they are in it every day. Molly is a big, beautiful hound from Utah. Her first experience in the pool was sinking to the bottom as she had no idea how to swim. Thank goodness we were in the pool and able to get her up. At that point we needed to give swimming lessons. Molly now prefers to sit on the float and expects to be pushed around the pool, no swimming required!!

Riley is now our senior dog. We think he is around 10-12 years old and was not young when he first came to us. He has slowed down a lot, but will still bark at all weedwhackers, dog walkers and the mailman. He loves the pool man and will sit with him while he cleans the pool. His favorite place is on the sofa in front of the fire.

We are so grateful, to Molly with all of the work and vet bills and P.T. with Lovie and the continual updates while I sat in court on the internet emailing back and forth and Jayne with the adoption of Molly after All My Loving died during her spay. We can't thank you enough for bringing the love of hounds into our lives.
