This sweet gentle Redtick found himself in a Tennessee shelter diagnosed with heartworms and he was bothered with a limp in one front leg. Only a few days left before he was to be put down. Rescue generously agreed to take him and treat him. He was sprung from the shelter, given a hamburger, a car ride which he really enjoyed and a nice warm bath. He was given a new name and some dignity. The next day the vet diagnosed Gary's shoulder as having osteosarcoma. His foster Mom and Rescue knew the only humane thing to do was to let him go to "The Bridge" before he started to suffer. All of the volunteers at the shelter had come to love his sweet spirit. Although he was in our lives for only a short time, the memory of Gary will be in hearts for a long time.
