It has been 2 months, and I still really miss you, Gracie. She had been coughing for about a week. It was so mild at first, but it got progressively worse.. She was still eating and going for walks, and even happy for a ride to the vet. But she did seem tired at the end. The x-ray showed a lot of fluid around her lungs. By then, she was short of breath. Both of her vets were sure that it was cancer, especially given her age (16). They thought that she would suffer if I waited, even overnight, so she was put down then and there. I was very much not prepared for it. She was such a good girl.
