Rambler came to our foster home a week ago with her sister. They had been abandoned in a national park in Georgia. Rambler was smaller and thinner than her sister, but was oh so sweet. She was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction this afternoon and went into cardiac arrest during emergency surgery to remove pieces of metal and gravel that she had ingested at some point in her life. Despite the best efforts of our vet, she could not be saved. We will always remember the shy, quiet girl who loved to fall asleep in my lap at night and who greeted us every morning with the steady thump, thump of her tail on the side of the crate.
