Sad news - we put Robin to sleep on July 1st. She was almost fourteen years old. We had her for over 11 years. She was a great Black and Tan. She came from a horrible beginning when we adopted her when she was about 3 years old. She was a very loving dog and a lady. She was a therapy dog and visited several elementary schools, working with the children who had difficulty reading, for the past seven years. She loved the kids and the kids loved her. The reading teachers were happy to see her with the kids as their reading improved after her visits. Robin had been failing for a bit, and her last day she kept falling down, and was visibly distraught and disoriented. She was a lady to the end, just gave a big sigh and was at peace.
