7 years ago we rescued a 2 year old Black and Tan and named him Rufus. This morning we had to put him down; he had developed a malignant tumor on his spleen that ruptured last night. We found him lying on the kitchen floor this morning. When I went to him he tried to get up but was staggering and could not stand. We rushed him to the vet and the ultra-sound confirmed the worst. He was my best friend and I will miss him very, very much.
